recommended law books
i'm at the begging of researching the law system and legalese so i can educate myself for any unseen future interactions with law or state. this is not for the purpose of 'sticking it to the state', i just want to prepare myself with the knowledge to defend myself for any hypotheticals ie. mandated vaccines or masks. i would rather have a basic understand of law and not need it, then having none at all but needed it.
would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right directions in which books to buy to learn about english law or legalese? as they're not cheap and i would rather avoid spending money on books that's not applicable to me. I've heard of black's law dictionary, but the comments I've read say it the best book out there for the US system, however, am i correct in saying that the US system is based on English common law and would this book still be applicable for me based in England? or is the oxford one just as good? thanks
I have a copy of Black's 10th. Its mostly shelf fodder though.
Highly recommend LawComic.net, which while dealing explicitly with the US, has many similar philosophies in UK law, as British common law is the root of both systems. I am not an attorney and this does not constitute sound legal opinion.
Also, I think you can buy the comics. They're awesome references.
cheers dude i'll have a ganders
1215.org for gravy
Jurisdictionary.com for learning how to use the rules in court
The blacks law books are a must. I have PDFs of Blacks Law dictionaries vol. 1-8, I could maybe put them in a dropbox if you're interested.
cheers as well dude that will be most helpful. however, i'm a bit of a ricky retardo with online tech, i've heard of dropbox but have no clue what that is... is it an app i've got to download?
not at all, are you in the discord? Or anyway I can private message you the link?
i did a couple of months ago, but i had troubles with my laptop and had to uninstall the app before i could do the updates which would sort out my laptop. just never got round to reinstalling it. i'm about to go to bed as its getting late here, so i'll reinstall it tomorrow.
or would the private message be on here?
I don't think it is on here
That is a discord invite. I don't install it on my computer, I can still be in the chat in a web browser though
