Thanks, UrsaDelta and anyone else who brought this into existence. This is awesome. I pretty much never miss an Owen or Vox stream, whether I listen at breakfast or during a worlout.
CertitudeBear is my new name. The Bears might know me better by the name Kevin of House Crater. Like most of you, finding the Bears, Owen, Vox, E. Michael Jones and to a large extend, JLP too, has guided me in my quest to know God and start a family. Big ups to all.
I'm currently in central TX and wanting to know if anyone else is and knows of a good Church. Or, if anyone has any suggestions for finding a Church. I've decided that I want to be baptized and surround my woman and I with more Logos, Truth and Love.
Thanks Bears. And thank you for any recommendations and/pr guidance. May Peace be upon us all.
It's awesome you want to do this thing. Owen recently said in a stream if a church is a 501c3 it's a government organization and not a church.
I personally worship with a group of friends who have come to the same conclusions as I have. We meet together, study the words of the prophets and apostles, and eat. One day, God willing, we will be able to all live in one place and live as a true community.
Not telling you what to do, but I will pray for you to be able to worship God as part of a community. It is a blessing. In the meantime I'd absolutely recommend reading the Bible with your wife, and exposit the word for your family.
These are the things i look for based on my understanding of the Bible. im sure others would disagree with some of these but this is my honest opinion.
there are certain quaifications the bible state a pastor should meet. the pastor must be male, obv, a husband to 1 wife, not divorced, and rule his house well, has obedient children, and blameless before men, doesnt have any major issues causing people to accuse him.
as far as doctrine...
salvation by faith alone, no works needed, lest any man should boast
once saved always saved, you can not earn your salvation so your works cant cause you to lose it either. god gave us eternal life at the moment of trusting in Him as yous savior.
kjv only, the new bibles have been severely grabbled, they don't even use the same manuscripts as the kjv, the new versions translate from the vatican's manuscripts, there are many key docrtines that are changed in the new versions plus there are many contridictions in the new version the kjv has none. God promised to preserve His word and he did in the kjv in english.
and the church should have a soul winning program.
if you go to newifb.com there is a church directory of churches that should follow all of those conditions. good luck
as far as the 501c3 thing. the churches have been fooled into giving up some of thier rights to become a 501c3, it was not even necessary to avoid being taxed but that is the world be live in today.
i do not think it is not a sin for a church to be a 501c3, if i were to start one i wouldn't file for 501c3 status. there are many great bible believing churches out there that are 501c3 i wouldn't put a lot of emphasis on whether they are 501c3 or not i would just focus on what doctrines they teach.
I've been following Mark Taylor and the late Kim Clement for several years and they have not been proven wrong in any of their prophecies so far as I know. Mark Taylor prophesied that we must come out of any 5013c churches. The word of God has been corrupted in them. We are told to start our own home churches! Like BB says, Build! Create! Ask for God's guidance and start your own! It was the chains of the 5013c that allowed roe v wade to be passed...the massive weight of all those murders will fall on those churches who took their 30 pieces of silver. Check out sordrescue.com if you are curious to learn more.
i agree churches should have never gone along with becoming 501c3 but like i said there are many good bible believing churches that are 501c3s and many non 501c3 churches that preach a false gospel. there is nothing inherently evil or sinful for a church to be a 501c3 unless they let the govt censor the word of god. some churches do let them censor and some dont. i would focus on the church doctrines when choosing a church and not worry too much about 501c3.
my church did not apply for 501-c3 thankfully.
We sometimes go to church when we can make it, I work every day and on the weekends I usually am done with work by around 9 am but the church we go to is about an hour away. But I have found that the best "church" I have gone to is right here in my home, on those days where I work later than usual and can't make it to the regular church. So we just sit and talk about the scripture and teach our kids some of the basic lessons.
I would avoid any church that doesn’t practice church discipline. I’ve been around too many that protect wolves at the expense of the sheep.
1. Kicks out those who openly disobey Gods word or are publicly unrepentant
2. Reads and explains scripture in sermons
3. Congregants read and listen to scripture.
4. No one tries to sell you insurance
I gotta be honest, watching the Kurgan/jay dyer debate on catholicism vs. orthadox made me not want to go to church.
You have to try a few to find a good fit. God knows we have individual preferences, so you'll know your fit when you find it. Preaching from Scripture is essential. Good music that is bible based is another plus. Friendly, welcoming people who aren't afraid to chat with new people is a good indication of a Jesus centered church. Take your time, don't feel pressured to join a church even if you make good connections there. The Holy Spirit will let you know when you've found a "home" church.
A small bible study group and help out your friends, family, and neighbors. That is my advice.
You are the church. Watch the streams. Enjoy the gravy. Speak logos. Going to church is more about you and God, and your local community, than anything. If you're not there...there's less logos. That's my current theory. You don't need their approval. You need to be right with God.
Be in the world, not of the world.
I'm currently in between churches. When I am in this place, I hold myself to account and guard my heart even more fervently. Treat everyday like Sunday, making mental checklist of known sin and spend at least 15 minutes in prayer and bible reading. Find fellowship among Christian friends irl and online. Praying that you all find a good church. They're sometimes hard to find.
PS read Acts 2:38,39. Very important.
Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
If you can find a group of people to get together with to read the bible and do as the scripture instructs, you're in a church.
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Aside from the 501c3 thing, here are a list of W.C.C. Churches affiliated with the global ecumenicalism movement, and push a globalist agenda:
Also you want to avoid Congregations that avoid talking about Anti-Abortion, and Pro-Life activities ..quickest way to expose that is bring ProLife pamphlets and put them in the tract area ..see if you get any push back.
Another thing you want to avoid is anything working with "Interfaith" initiatives.
Now if I was to describe a Church that was ideal without my personal bias ..it would have to be unapologetically willing to kick blatant sinners out of the Congregation, also the office of Evangelism is for dealing with unbelievers, and building them up in the Gospel to be worthy of the Congregation ..believers should not be put in a position to be mingled with the families of unbelievers, so the Congregation should make a distinction between such services, or practice Evangelism outside the Congregation.
If you are looking for an old fashioned, bible believing, soul winning, sodomy rebuking, awake to israel, anti evolution, pro home school, pro father led family, anti abortion (obviously) church check out this website for a church in your area.
I would not throw away 1,500 years of Church history either. See Professor Brown's videos on unauthorized.tv, my comments here under Christianity, and www.iccec.org . Peace in Christ brothers!
Since the crown plague has come upon us, I am looking into any churches I find that resist the nonsense by meeting together. In my area there are very few. The church I had been attending is still shutdown. They comply with whatever the state and county health departments request. I have worked with them on some one on one personal support missions. These often involve meeting people in hospital, extended care, and school facilities. This church and those institutions are forbidding any social interactions. I do my best to wake people up. This is a time of great revelation and choosing.
